I have always had a love for all things home. Even as a young girl my heart would skip a beat when I’d walk into a home décor shop. I’d dream of how I could take the items and bring them to life in my home, or better yet, create the look for less on my own. When I think of home, I can’t help but envision it as a nest. You go out into the world and carefully select items to build your “nest” and turn it into a cozy retreat. I love mixing aged pieces that have a story to tell in with new décor items. A curated home takes time to create, but the end result is worth the wait! My hope is that this space can be an inspiration to you so you can see how easy it can be to curate a home all your own. Creating a beautiful, inviting space doesn’t have to break the bank. I am a self-proclaimed penny pincher and a believer that you can most definitely get a champagne look on a beer budget.
As newlyweds my husband and I moved into our home and knew it had the potential to be so much more than a standard “cookie cutter” builder grade box. Throughout the years as I’ve found pictures of inspiring projects or décor pieces, I’ve brought them to him, and we figure out how we can build or create the look ourselves. We’ve gotten ourselves into some messy situations, but when it’s all said and done, we are so proud of the hard work we’ve put into this house to make it our home!
My three daughters are my driving force. I strive each day to be an example of what hard work, faith, humility and a whole lot of grace can bring to life. It has brought so much joy to my life to watch them grow into the little cheeky monkeys they are!
My love for baking, coffee, treasure hunting at the antique mall and crafting run deep, so you’ll be seeing quite a bit of that here on the blog too! I truly appreciate you spending a piece of your day here with me. Enjoy!

Our hobby of crafting items for our home turned into a business after months of prayerful consideration. As lovers of creating décor items to style our home we decided to share those items by starting our business, Ruffled Nest. Together my husband James and I craft decorative home items to suite any style. Our favorite product is most definitely our décor bead strands. We even get our girls involved helping string beads of every color in the rainbow! Out in our garage turned workshop James and I brainstorm new product ideas and bring them to life. We get so excited when there is a good response to a new handcrafted wood item we introduce to our shop. We are proud to offer products crafted by our family for you to style in your home.

Fun Facts
I can’t live without my coffee! I worked as a barista at a local coffee shop for nearly a decade and it was the best job ever!
My love for home décor comes from my parent’s. They have poured their heart and soul into every room of my childhood home built in the 1920’s. As kids my siblings and I were always helping with refreshes and renovations. That is what gave me the confidence to know with a little hard work you can create a home all your own. Even though I’m grown and gone, it will always be “home” to me. My mom makes every space feel warm and inviting. She is the reason I have a passion for creating a home that tells the story of you!
